Animetal

Animetal was started, like so many other great successes, with a crazy-sounding idea. In 1996 two producers were talking about combining anime soundtrack songs with heavy metal. This was the birth of Animetal, a hugely successful Japanese band. Throughout the band's history there has been many member changes, but the singer Eizo Sakamoto has stayed the same. Other members of Animetal have been MASAKI, She-ja, Suy and Yasuhiro Umezawa. They also had female singer, Mie for a while.

Animetal gained great success with their anime-metal covers, although they thought at first their music would only be popular with the die-hard anime fans. At its best Animetal was on the top ten of the Oricon chart. However, being a bit of a project band, it was hard to concentrate. Almost all the band members had other projects on the side, and that caused Animetal to have its last concert in 2006.
