Onmyo-Za is a band of opposites. They combine traditional Japanese music with heavy metal on their albums.
They write songs that combine femininity and masculinity, all the yin-yang-stuff... The band even has two singers,
a female and a male one.
Matatabi (vocals, bass), Kuroneko (vocals), Maneki (guitar) and Karuka (guitar) founded Onmyo-Za back in 1999.
Later a drummer named Tora joined them. They went major in the year 2001 after a few fairly successful albums.
Their big chance, however, was participating on an Iron Maiden tribute album, as the only Japanese band.
Nowadays Onmyo-Za has toured all over Europe, convincing also European metalheads.
