Started already in 1982, X has been a very inspirational band to almost all Japanese
rock bands at least in some way. They were the first band to fill up stadiums, sell
millions of records and live the real rock'n'roll lifestyle in Japan.
Towards the
beginning of the 1990's Yoshiki (drums, piano), Toshi (vocals), hide (guitar),
Pata (guitar) and Taiji (bass) started making plans of trying their luck in the
United States. USA wasn't quite ready for Visual Kei, but the new name, X Japan
stayed.
The most important X Japan releases are Vanishing Vision (1988),
Blue Blood (1989), Jealousy (1991), Art Of Life (single, 1993) and a whole
lot of different compilations.
